We all know it is hard to bring God up in conversation. It is our hope that these simple questions will help you bring God into conversations and share a simple truth from scripture with your friends and family.
April 1
Talk: What do you have planned for today? How would you feel if those things didn’t happen? Do you think God has anything planned for you today? How would you feel about doing what God desires of you today?
Text: When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 2 Samuel 7:12-13
Truth: David wanted to build the temple, but God had plans for Solomon to build it. God’s plans are always better
Talk: What do you have planned for today? How would you feel if those things didn’t happen? Do you think God has anything planned for you today? How would you feel about doing what God desires of you today?
Text: When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 2 Samuel 7:12-13
Truth: David wanted to build the temple, but God had plans for Solomon to build it. God’s plans are always better
January 7
Talk: How do you know if something is dead or not? What does it mean to be dead in your sin?
Text: And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— Ephesians 2:1-2
Truth: When we disobey God we are dead in sin, but the good news is that He sent Jesus to save us. Read about this good news in Ephesians 2:8-10
Talk: How do you know if something is dead or not? What does it mean to be dead in your sin?

Truth: Those who believe in Jesus Christ are united because of that faith.

Truth: God created you for a purpose and you will live the best life when you are living within that call!
Talk: What do you want to do when you grow up? When did you figure out that? What do you think God created you to do?

Text: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:1-4
Truth: God has a design for all relationships. It begins with divine love, respect and honor.

Text: “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.”1 Samuel 1:15-16
Truth: God is the God of possible and longs to hear our genuine prayer of trust and reliance on Him.

Truth: Following God comes with blessings, Following something else comes with consequences.

Talk: How do you decide what to do when 2 people say you should do opposite things? How would you decide what to do if God said to do one thing and your friends/family said to do another?
Text: Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. Now therefore, please pardon my sin and return with me that I may bow before the Lord.” 1 Samuel 15:24-25
Truth: When we choose what others say over God it is a sin. God is the one that speaks truth all the time and we must follow Him.
Talk: How do you decide what to do when 2 people say you should do opposite things? How would you decide what to do if God said to do one thing and your friends/family said to do another?

Text: When they came, he looked on Eliab and thought, “Surely the Lord's anointed is before him.” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:6-7
Truth: God looks at the motives of our heart. What is your heart motivated by?

Truth: David respected Saul and even though he had an opportunity to “win” he lived in respect and honor to help Saul see a better way forward.

March 11

Text: David said to him, “How is it you were not afraid to put out your hand to destroy the Lord's anointed?” 2 Samuel 1:14
Truth: We are honor others even when they don’t do the same to us. We are called to extend honor and respect to all of God’s creation
Talk: Have you ever been hurt by someone? How do you feel about that person or event? What do you think God thinks about that person? How do you think God would have you treat that person?

March 18

Text: David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die.” 2 Samuel 12:13- 14
Truth: Mistakes often come with consequences which help us learn for the next time.
Talk: Have you ever made a mistake? How did you handle that mistake? What consequences did you face because of your mistake? Did the consequence help you learn how to not do that again?
Text: David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die.” 2 Samuel 12:13- 14

Text: And David spoke to the Lord the words of this song on the day when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. He said, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, myGod, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. 2 Samuel 22:1-3
Truth: God has done great things and is worthy of ALL our praise
Talk: What are some things you are thankful for? What do you say when you want to thank someone for what they have done? What has God done for you? How can you say thank you to Him?
